Treasurer’s Report
No official report; Treasurer Evans estimated a checking account balance of $4,500.
Membership Report
No official report, but approximately 55 members have paid their 2007 dues.
Old Business
Evans distributed a current membership roster to the board.
Draft #5 of the proposed by-laws was presented by Wilson. Draft 5 differs from Draft 4 only the change of quorum requirements for membership meetings as previously discussed and approved. There being no other changes the proposed by-laws will be e-mailed to all board members for their on-going review. Schneider will post the proposed by-laws to the FFCAP website for review by the membership so they may vote to accept or deny the by-laws at the August 18, 2007 membership meeting.
Dwyer confirmed that FFCAP is not associated with the CAP activities at the Air Park on July 4, 2007.
Dwyer confirmed the Dodge-powered motorhome available for sale to FFCAP was no longer for sale. There was not enough interest in the motorhome by the board to purchase the vehicle.
All board members confirmed they had not heard from Bill Clark regarding his “The Next Step” follow-up program for Young Eagles.
New Business
Lengthy discussion regarding the FFCAP calendar was held. It was agreed FFCAP should hold a minimum of three (3) membership meetings/events per year in addition to Young Eagles. These events are for the membership’s enjoyment. Three events were thus calendared: 1) Spaghetti Dinner August 18, 2007, 2) Flyout to the Chino air museum October 20, 2007 3) Christmas Party at a yet to be determined date and site. Discuss of the details of these three events was held. Other possible events were discussed but not calendared.
Dwyer asked the board to commit to a float in the Fallbrook Christmas Parade. The board agreed.
Dwyer announced he had preliminary plans for two new monuments for the Viewing Common, but was not ready to move forward on them until spring of 2008.
Evans stated a need to erect a simple post-and-chain barrier in front of the monuments at the View Common, and that such a barrier was already conceptually approved by Air Park Manager Bo Donavan. Dwyer said he could obtain stainless steel posts; chain would be obtained locally.
President Doug Dwyer adjourned the meeting at 9:50 p.m.
